OUR PEDIGREE
Chief Engineer Andy Dawson of our parent company Dawson Auto Developments Ltd founded Abarth Racing UK in 2012 following his involvement with the UK Trofeo race series. This formed the basis of a relationship with the Italian Scorpions that now sees Abarth Racing UK as the importer of competition parts for modern race and rally Abarths.
Andy’s Italian connection goes back a long way; he won Group 1 on the Welsh International in 1974 in an Alfa Romeo GTV and he is the only person to have tamed the Lancia Stratos on gravel, winning the BRC Mintex International Rally in 1976.
Driving however is just one part of Andy’s skillset, he also boasts 50 years’ experience designing & engineering motorsport vehicles resulting in hundreds of professional motorsport victories worldwide.

In ’85 Andy started the 555 Rally Team to enter the Hong Kong to Beijing Rally, engineering victories for Hannu Mikkola and Stig Blomqvist in Audi A2 Quattros which won in both ’85 and ’86.
